UTILIDADE PÚBLICA: Ubuntu...


Bem assim à primeira vista esta palavra parece como k um simples som.. mas na verdade é um conceito extraordinário e que, valha a verdade, personifica a grande diversidade cultural intra-Africana como garantia da sua própria sobrevivência.

É normal não termos a noção disso mas, em África, especialmente na zona geagráfica da África-do-Sul, há/haviam milhares de tribus com características culturais totalmente diferentes muitas vezes quase incompatíveis. A sobrevivência dessas tribus deu-se pela interdependencia e cooperação entre elas, pondo de parte todas as suas crenças, apaziguando as suas quezilias e respeitando as outras culturas; isto para a sobrevivência de todas as tribus. A este sentimento, a esta relação eles chamavam Ubuntu....

Nos dias que correm este conceito acentaria que nem uma luva para o bem de todos.. mas num proximo post aprofundarei esta perspectiva. Para já fiquem com uma pequena ideia sobre o verdadeiro significado de Ubuntu!!!


Humanity to the others” is the meaning of the African primordial word “Ubuntu”. One can understand Ubuntu as “that profound African sense that we are human only through the humanity of other human beings. …..It is not a parochial phenomenon, but a concept that has added globally to our common search for a better world”.
Supportiveness, sharing, and cooperation are three important values of the concept, which is easy to understand if we consider it as a philosophy. Ubuntu is an orientation to life opposed to rampant individualism, insensitive, competitiveness, and unilateral decision making (McFarlin, Coster & Mogale-Pretorius, 1999).

Considering that more than ever we are towards a globalization where consequently the different cultures of the world are getting “in-touch” with each other, it is this deep Human touch of Ubuntu concept that characterizes the openness, the understanding, the cooperation and the supportiveness that all cultures need to cohabit within one world, or within one organization. In the past this concept helped the ancient different tribes in Africa to remain alive and safety, we expect that nowadays we can be Human enough to make it happen again by integrating the cultural diversity of each individual (each country) within the companie as a whole (the whole world)
