FRANK LAMPARD rapped Swiss ref Urs Meier after England were cheated out of Euro 2004.


Defender Terry fumed: “I certainly didn’t commit a foul and I’ve no idea why it was disallowed.

“I didn’t touch the keeper and neither did Sol. The ref wouldn’t explain why he ruled it out and we’re all totally mystified.”



TV pundits Peter Reid, Ian Wright and Alan Hansen all agreed England had been cheated.

Reid said: “We were robbed by a bad refereeing decision which has ultimately knocked us out of the championship.”

Wright insisted: “The boys didn’t play well but we scored a perfectly good goal which has been disallowed because the referee has deemed it a foul on the keeper.

“That refereeing decision has cost us. The goalkeeper has run into our two players, there is no push and these are meant to be the best referees.”
